COVID-19: Here's the situation in Timmins today

No new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Porcupine Health Unit region today.

Since Friday's report, there has been one new recovery.

To-date, there hav been 95 confirmed cases of the virus in the region. Of those, there are 78 recoveries and nine people have died. There are seven known active cases of the virus. 

In the past week (Oct. 19 - 26), five cases have been reported — three in Hearst, Hornepayne, one in Kapuskasing, and one out of region.

The health unit is aware of 29,959 tests being done locally, which is an increase of 191 since the last report Friday. 

In the past week, 2,898 tests were done. 

Ontario Public Health reported 851 new cases today. To date, there have been 71,224 lab-confirmed cases in the province. Of those, 60,839 of those cases (85.4 per cent) have been reported as recovered and 3,099 people (4.4 per cent)  have died.
