Firefighters responded to a fire this morning on Sixth Avenue.

A next-door neighbour, Peter Lawryniw, shot the video below.

Lawryniw said he was awoken by firefighters around 5:45 a.m. and rushed out of his house with his wife and two children, one of which is one month old.

“The roof completely caved in next door. They were using four hoses at one point,” said Lawryniw.

He said he has spoken to a resident of the four-plex and said he was told everyone got out.

Lawryniw said his house wasn't damaged by the flames, but he said his basement is now flooded.

As of 9:30 a.m., firefighters were still on the scene pouring water on the apartment through a gaping hole in its roof.

“It’s basically just a massive ice castle right now,” said Lawryniw.
