Driver charged in fatal pedestrian collision August 14

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision which took place on August 14, 2014. 

At approximately 8:50 p.m., André Carrier, 60, of Timmins, was walking southbound, across Algonquin Blvd at Mountjoy St.

The pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck making a left turn onto Algonquin Blvd. Carrier was transported to hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Alexandre LAMBERT, 24, of Val Gagné, ON faces a charge of careless driving, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. 

Lambert has been summonsed to appear in Provincial Offences Court on December 11, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
