Timmins Police won't say what they are looking for as officers and volunteers search an area near Highway 655 this afternoon.
Kate Cantin, TPS spokesperson, said she was unable to disclose what police are looking for so as not to compromise an ongoing investigation.
"We can assure the public when iformation comes to light that can be shared with the public we will be doing so then," said Cantin.

The Timmins Police Service, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police and volunteers from Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue are currently conducting an evidence-based search in the area North of Algonquin near Hwy 655.
This search is in relation to an ongoing investigation.
For investigative purposes, the nature of the investigation or any other specifics cannot be released at this time.
