NEWS RELEASE
McINTYRE CURLING CLUB
Both the sport and the community will be the focus of celebrations throughout the upcoming season.
There will be a number of bonspiels, including the 2015 Mixed Provincials, and social events like the Anniversary Gala, coming in November.
“For our 75th season, we wanted to focus on both the social aspects of the game as well as the game itself since they’ve both been so important to our club’s history,” says Glaister.
But first on the calendar for the club is their Open House, coming up the weeks of October 6th and 14th.
“We’re hoping that this will be the opportunity for us to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones,” says Glaister. “Even if you’ve never curled before, you can throw a couple of rocks and learn a little more about this great family sport.”
Members of the club will be available all week to answer people’s questions about the club or one of the many curling leagues which stretch across a variety of ages and skill levels.
The club now even has a league for children as young as 5 years.
He also points out that experience is not necessary, thanks to the club’s Learn to Curl program.
