Wintergreen Fund for Conservation/Mattagami Region Conservation Authority and Business Takes the Lead to celebrate a $5,000 donation from Hydro One in support of the Gillies Lake South Shore Promenade Project.
The new Promenade is a 50-metre long boardwalk/dock located along the south shore of the lake in front of the main parking lot.
It has been designed to provide better, safer access to the water for conservation area users.
The project will also protect the shoreline from further erosion and will provide improved habitat for fish.
The Promenade will feature a short dock extension into the lake for launching canoes and kayaks.
On hand to accept the donation were (L-R) David Vallier, MRCA General Manager, Michael Doody, Wintergreen Chair, Phil Barton, Past Timmins Chamber President and Business Takes the Lead Chair and Keitha Robson, CAO of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce.
